Flagship Event: RE:SONATE x Salk Institute for Biological Studies

The event

Science meets art in the eucalyptus grove.

4 questions, 4 science stations, 4 art installations.

Hand drawing: the eucalyptus grove staged for the afternoon — the four station placards among the trees, mirrored spiral sculptures, a fire pit with lounge seating, and a bar under the canopy.
Concept drawing: the eucalyptus grove, transformed for the afternoon. Station partners are not yet confirmed.

  • Nature, plants & sustainability

    Breath of the Planet

    Could plants cool the planet?

  • Aging & the future of life

    Timekeepers

Why do we age at all?

Science meets sound in the courtyard.

The monumental pillars come alive for one night with visuals and projections all based on scientific data from Salk's groundbreaking science.

Hand drawing: the Salk Institute courtyard staged for the main set — a crowd facing a lit stage ring at the west end, flowing lines of projected light down the towers, the sun setting over the Pacific beyond.
